Assistant Property Manager - Large luxury property in Metro DC Area
Position Summary
Currently expanding our Site Management Team throughout our portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager for a property with 752 units in Fairfax, VA.
Our assistant managers help the Property Manager with all daily operations for their community: leasing, occupancy, resident satisfaction, administration, maintenance, security, personnel, purchasing, reporting, accounts receivable/payable, etc.
They preserve and increase the value of the apartment community, manage the day-to-day overall operations of the property, oversee staff and ensure the property is maintained, improved, and financially successful.

Managing a Stellar property will require you to:
- Work closely with the Property Manager on all aspects of community management and fill the role of Property Manager in his or her absence
- Aid in the leasing process, monitor leases, participate in marketing efforts, and assist in the renewal process and rent increases.
- Oversee customer/resident services for retention purposes
- Monitor and handle late payments, collections, evictions, and tenant move-ins and move-outs
- Work with property manager to hire, train and develop staff, including counseling and reviewing employees as necessary. Assist Property Manager with employee scheduling.
- Work with Property Manager and maintenance team to insure that apartment units, common areas and grounds are maintained according to property standards.
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly property activity reports concerning financial, leasing, maintenance and other matters.
- Assist in resolving all tenant complaints and violations in a timely manner.
- Perform administrative tasks including maintaining records, reports and files, and assisting in the preparation of accident/insurance claim reports.
- Assist in the managing purchase requisitions and supervising third party vendors.
- Perform such other tasks or assignments as may be required by management.
A successful candidate should have:
- At least 2 years of property management experience
- College degree
- Construction and customer service experience
- Experience with supervision of a team of seven or more associates
- Strong mathematical skills and Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
- Knowledge of building systems and building maintenance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, including Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Yardi 6.0 computer software
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Familiarity with local real estate laws and regulations
