Leasing / Sales Manager needed to motivate Commissioned Sales Reps (Fairfax, VA)
Position Summary
Currently expanding our Site Management Team throughout our portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager for a property with 752 units in Fairfax, VA.
A Stellar Leasing manager supervises and manages all leasing staff while overseeing all activities related to apartment rentals, including marketing, leasing, maintaining good customer relations with residents and prospective clients, and lease renewals in order to achieve maximum occupancy and resident retention.

Leasing/Sales Managers must have prior experience motivating a team of commissioned sales people.
You will be required to:
- Have at least 4 years sales management experience and some college preferred
- Supervise, manage, and hire all leasing staff under the direction of the Property Manager
- Train staff on sales, sales goals, best practices, and job performance expectations
- Generate prospect traffic through marketing efforts which include Craig’s List postings, community outreach to strengthen referral network, generating broker lists, and property tours
- Process incoming lease applications, including qualifying prospects, running credit verifications, tracking all prospective tenants, and following up on all leads
- Prepare and execute lease documentation, including applications, and conduct lease signings
- Coordinate all move-ins, move-outs, and transfers to achieve maximum occupancy and resident retention; check vacant units and models; monitor lease renewal activity
- Work with property manager to shop competition and maintain up-to-date marketing information on the competition and any other factors affecting the property’s market. Assist property manager with preparation of sales and marketing plans
- Assist Property Manager in achieving income and occupancy goals, prepare leasing reports, comply with company policies and procedures and fair housing laws
- Make all updates necessary in Yardi system, including new tenant information, lease charges, vacancies, and specials. Maintain accurate files for residents, lease applications, deposits, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service, including following up on resident service requests
- Perform such other tasks or assignments as may be required by management
A successful candidate should have:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to use and understand Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and the Internet
- Knowledge of basic office machine systems such as copy machines, fax machines, scanners
- Basic to intermediate math skills
- Knowledge of the Yardi program preferred
- Ability to function effectively in a customer service and sales-oriented environment
