Service Technician - Metro DC Area
REPORTS TO:
PROPERTY MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY:
Stellar Maintenance Technician handles the service and general maintenance requests for the apartment community and completes assignments as directed by the Maintenance or Property Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with the Property Manager daily about the maintenance needs of the apartment community and sets schedule of maintenance items to be addressed.
- Oversee maintenance technicians to ensure that all repairs and or replacements on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance are completed.
- Oversee apartment turnovers for new move-ins and guarantees that the apartments are prepared and ready.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment in the apartment community homes.
- Assign and review work orders.
- Report any incidents or accidents to the Property Manager
- Clean apartments during turnover process as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain grounds and common areas, including lawns and flowerbeds, shrubbery, parking areas, trash pickup.
- Provide on-call maintenance service as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Responds to emergencies as required.
- Set up conference room and community space as needed.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Take direction from the supervisor.
- Advise the manager on the overall condition of the property.
A successful candidate should have prior multi-family maintenance experience with the ability to:
- Take direction from the supervisor.
- Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
- Read and interpret electrical, plumbing and mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
- Ability to make working sketches.
- Work in a collaborative manner, as a part of the site team.
- Relate professionally with vendors, residents, and co-workers.
- Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Use maintenance, trade and testing equipment and tools.
- Flexible to change work plans.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Drive a car (with a valid driver's license) in order to run errands, etc.
- Oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
- Learn and adhere to complex regulatory requirements.
- HVAC experience a plus!
