Enclave Silver Spring Welcomes "Wounded Warriors"
Silver Spring, MD (July 1, 2008) – Enclave Silver Spring, a popular Montgomery County rental apartment community owned and managed by Stellar Management is extending its hospitality to soldiers recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital by offering 15 furnished apartment homes in its comfortable Silver Spring environment.
An official ceremony welcoming the soldiers and their families will take place at The Enclave on July 15 at 10 a.m.
Enclave Silver Spring is one of two residential rental communities in the U.S. chosen by Operation Homefront to launch its Operation Homefront Village program. The program was established for veterans recuperating at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Operation Homefront offers transitional housing to wounded soldiers once they are discharged from military medical facilities but need to stay close by to continue rehabilitation while waiting for their VA compensation to begin.
“We are pleased to be able to open our doors to Operation Homefront and our wounded warriors when they are most in need,” said J'aime J. Huret, general manager at Enclave Silver Spring, “These soldiers and their families find our large apartments and amenities to be well-suited for them during this time of transition.”
Huret said that 2 and 3-bedroom units will be available rent-free and furnished for military families. Enclave, he said, also offers extensive outdoor space with a pool, sand volleyball court and tennis courts and many amenities such as a business center, fitness facility and game room.
“These types of units and amenities are perfect for our families,” said Meredith Leyva, executive director and founder of Operation Homefront. “We are extremely grateful to the folks at Enclave for being so accommodating.”
Huret also said he would also provide, rent-free, a five-room office suite for Operation Homefront to set up a local administrative center.

About Operation Homefront
Service members disabled from injuries returning home are discharged from service and have 30 days to vacate base housing. They often wait as long as 18 months for their VA compensation to begin while they continue recuperating at military medical facilities (while paying their mortgage back home). Operation Homefront established Operation Homefront Villages near Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC to provide transitional housing for these wounded veterans and their families.Operation Homefront began in 2001 as an idea generated by military spouses. In response to the need for the families of deployed service members, military wives and women in uniform created the project that has evolved into a major nonprofit charity serving 30 military communities.
