Officially, Tribeca is short for Triangle Below Canal Street, but residents of the area know that it stands for so much more. It’s one of Manhattan’s most sought after neighborhoods, featuring many of the city’s best restaurants, shops and places to relax and people watch. From the Hudson River Park, it’s impossible to ignore the picturesque beauty of the waterfront, and New Yorkers flock to the area during all seasons. Once a year, Hollywood heads east for the Tribeca Film Festival, drawing serious crowds and major celebrities into the neighborhood. Tribeca’s residential buildings are often refurbished warehouses, converted into modern apartments and lofts, without losing the character of the old structure. The A/C/E subway line and 1 train service the area.
